Pros:- Bloomin amazing laser pen!- Cheap!- Powerful!- Impresses everyone you show it to!- Good build quality- Possibly the best thing I've ever bought here on dealtoworlde- You can have it as a normal laser pen if you want, just unscrew the thing that makes patterns, it comes off easily enough

Cons:- Box it came in was a bit naff but that will probably just get binned 99% of the time anyway- Other than that, no more cons!

Other Thoughts:This is not a toy! Only buy if you know what you're doing with lasers and if you're a careful person

Ease of Use:

Pros:- comes with diffraction cap which makes new dimension to this kind of gadgets - you can put on laser show to amaze your friends at the party- you can easily unscrew the cap to get straight bright green laser beam- good build quality- 2xAAA batteries included

Cons:- the batteries seems a little bit loose inside the laser

Other Thoughts:- actually this laser is bigger than it looks on the pictures, but this is maybe just my subjective thought- you have to stuff the batteries backwards (minus to the hole, plus to the batt.cap)- it is well packed (hard case) so it won't break during shipment from HK- diffracting cap feature is a BIG plus!- you probably won't see the beam in daylight or even in the dark, mine don't burn plastics nor pop balloons - but who cares- but it's really cool to play with this laser during foggy night WOW!

Bottomline:At this price you can hardly have better choice. Get it, you will not be disappointed!

Cons:Your fingers will get tired when turning the diffraction cap a lot.It is easy to lose the cap.

Other Thoughts:This is the perfect laser for beginners in the laser hobby - a pointer powerful enough to see the beam clearly at night and a diffraction feature which will amaze anyone, even those who may usually ask why you would spend money on a laser.

Pros:Looks AMAZING in a dark room or at night outdoors. Even the videos on here don't do it justice.Diffraction grating nosepiece works well, and is detachable for when you just want a straight laser. With a little tweaking you could probably attach it to a different laserBright! Quite a bit brighter than the regular 30mW laser here; on par with the 50mW one. Great price. Even if you just want a straight laser this is the one to get (see previous point).

Cons:Absolutely nothing! Except possibly being followed around by people who want one of their own. (it happens.)

Other Thoughts:With a little tweaking you could probably attach it to a different laser, maybe an even brighter one, or a violet one or something.

Bottomline:Simply a great thing to get. I bought this for a friend, tried it out, and immediately ordered several for myself. You will not regret this for a second!

Pros:This laser is from my first dealtoworlde order. It comes in a pretty nice box and I was surprised to find such a nice build pointer inside. 2 aaa battery's are included. The turning head feels nice and solid. The Laser itself produces a nice, big and strong pattern, very cool effects (see my submitted video when available). You can remove the turning head for a strong laser beam. For this price it's awesome!

Cons:The solid beam seams to be not as focused as other lasers.

Other Thoughts:It would be nice if there were other heads available for more cool effects.

Bottomline:For this money it's a no-brainer, order this item! :)

Pros:-This is A beautiful green Kaleidoscopic laser. All of my friends have got mezmerized by this, i find myself buying it over and over again. -The Kaleidoscope cap can be removed, and it is a quite powerful laserpointer without the cap on. I have compared it to a other 30mw laser, and it seems quite the same. -The laserlight from the kaleidoscope-cap does not hurt your eyes much (light scattered and not too bright)

Cons:-It does not have a keychain attachment or a neckloop etc., it only has a pen-style clip, wich i find a bit useless.

Other Thoughts:-It comes with a nice box that shuts neatly with a hidden magnet.

Bottomline:-This is a great laserpointer with a removable kaleidoscope head. -Great value for your money (if you're in to lasers) -I would, and I have bought this again!Great, i love it.

Pros:- The kadeloscopic thing can be removed to use this pointer laser as a normal 30 mW pointer laser- Really bright, it makes a long line in the dark- You can point stars with it (when using it without kadeleoscopic)- The dot isn't too big like cheap pointers- The kadeleoscopic is really fun, you can turn the little len and have some fun with it

Cons:- Don't work well when it's -30 degree Celcius outsideI don't see any cons for this item. Maybe a little bit expansive? I don't know, it looks similar to the 5 mW ones (except it's brigther, more powerful), not sure it costs anymore to produce.

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline:If you need a laser pointer and you also want to have a lot of fun, BUY IT! You can use it as a normal 30 mW pointer laser or put the kadeleoscopic thing and put some great effects. Really fun to use in classes, if you're a little bit smart, nobody will find that it is you.

Cons:- Although it says that it is 30mw, I highly doubt that that is true. I had a true 30 (i broke it trying to pot mod) and this is not as bright is that. doesn't even sting.-Brightness is not stable Mine goes very bright (prob 30) then dims within a second to probably 3/4ths brightness, I would get a new one, but customs banned them now :(

Other Thoughts:I wish a similar cap and other gratings were available sans pointer on DTW...

Bottomline:For the price, this is an incredibly good buy, it produces an amazing effect.

Pros:Much better than I thought! I thought I had my laser pointer "fill" and wasn't really that excited to get this one, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. Friends totally love it and want one for themselves. Even my wife had said this one was "pretty cool"!! That never happens! You can also use it as a standard pointer (dot).

Cons:Well, I don't think this is a con, but its BRIGHT. I can't believe I'm saying that it may be "too" bright, but if using indoors with white walls, the dot can be blinding. That's not to mention the whole IR thing.

Other Thoughts:Personally, I think it's a "Must Have" for anyone that even remotely enjoys lasers.

Bottomline:Personally, I think it's a "Must Have" for anyone that even remotely enjoys lasers. I came back today to purchase a couple more to have for friends and thought I should write a review for it, which I very rarely spend time to write reviews.

Great Laser

Posted by GrayWolf on 06-23-2008

Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month

Price:
Ease of Use:
Build Quality:
Usefulness:
Overall Rating:

Pros:It's a good laser, and in my opinion, is the best if you just want a green laser to play around. The only reason why I bought it was the kaleidoscopic cap, although everyone says ohhh when they see the green dot going far far away, when people see the kaleidoscopic cap effect they just go crazy. The beam is pretty visible at night, and it does not expands or split as much as the common cheap red lasers. It took about 20 days to reach my home in sao paulo, brazil,

Cons:The batteries run low very quickly, I tested it with a pair of sony 900MaH rechargeable batteries, it did not last long in full power, just about 10 minutes in normal use, then the light brightness drop enough so you can barely see the beam at night sky, at this point, if you release and press the button again, you can see the beam light fading from full power to a dim beam in about 3 or 4 seconds. The case has a very cheap build quality

Other Thoughts:There could be a strap for holding the laser body so you don't scratch or drop it accidentallyThe kaleidoscopic cap could also have a ministrap attached to the body, so you don't have to worry where to store the cap when playing with the single dot, as long as it is very small and easy to lose.I would be good if this laser had some sort of power estabilizer, because some times the brightness begin flicking as if you're not pressing the button strong enough.I didn't try popping ballons or lighting matches yet with this laser, but you can fell warmth if you point the single dot to the back of your hand, however, it is not secure to point it to the eye, I accidentaly did it, and then I could see the laser beam printed in my shut eyes for a few minutes.

Bottomline:It's a great deal if you want to impress someone and play around with a green laser, I bought one for me and other to a friend, the cap surely is a plus

Cons:I cant think of or find any cons.

Other Thoughts:The fact the head can be removed and it can be used as a normal laser pen then you might aswell get this one rather than the normal 30mw green laser pen. With the head removed it can pop balloons and the beam is visible at night.

Ease of Use:
Build Quality:
Usefulness:

Pros:- Powerful enough, altough not as powerful as a true 30mw- The kaleidoskopic end is a great fun, the beams of the all individual dots are visible when it's dark enough

Cons:- Propably emits more IR than the true pointers- The build quality isn't just as good as the true ones- The difference between this and a 10mw true isn't that big after all

Other Thoughts:Be sure to do your research on laser safety :)

Bottomline:If you're planning to buy your first laser, buy this one or a true laser, possibly a smaller powered one for your first laser.

Cons:Case for laser doesn't close properly, goes through batteries quite quickly.

Other Thoughts:Great fun and the end diffuser can be removed to allow for a single dot rather than a pattern.

Bottomline:Get this over the True 30mw laser, only a few dollars more and the pattern attachment makes it interesting. (probably the reason why it got through customs)

Overall Rating:

Pros:Uses 2 x AAA batteries so cheap to refillVery well constructed, the casing is made of thick metal with a high quality tough black finish. The battery screw appears to be made of stainless steel with a chrome finish. The diffraction grating gives some very interesting effects. The diffraction grating also makes the laser safer as the beam is split into over 100 beams so the effect of any one beam shouldn't damage someone's eye, though it still should not be pointed at anyone. The diffraction grating unscrews so it can be used as any of the other laser pens.

Cons:The batteries decay quite quickly reducing the brightness of the beam after only a few minute usage.

Other Thoughts:Would be nice to have some different diffraction grating effects to screw on the laser body.

Bottomline:It seems to me to be really well built the case is quite heavy with a very nice black finish. If you're going to get a laser I would definitely recommend this one.

It will probably last a long time with moderate use.-Only costs $2 more than the true 30mw laser and it is easily as bright as the "true" laser.-The kaleidoscopic cap easily screws off and you can use it on your other lasers.

Cons:The button seems a bit flimsy and it rapidly eats batteries.

Other Thoughts:Works best with eneloop or other nimh rechargeables.

Pros:makes a really nice effect on a wall, and the dispersion of the beams is probably about 80degrees, so it can cover a large area at not a major distance, the actual end to it has a decent bit of weight to it, can can be removed to as to use the laser pen - as a laser pen, and the diffraction end can be used with other lasers (if held over the aperture, looks amaising with my 100mW DTW green)the beams vary from maybe 30 stronger beams to about 600 smaller beams (both look great in smoke, but the thicker ones look better for photos)the lasers itself has almost no scatter that im aware of and gives a nice thick beam.

Cons:the batteries supplied (i got 4 - how many did others get) were the epiphany of awful, they last for about 10 seconds before the laser dims, and its only 30mW so thats not right.

Other Thoughts:its a nice laser, and i was thinking, you could market some sort of changing end that utilises various diffraction ends; lines, dots ect, and make the product a bit more versatile.

Bottomline:pretty nice product that im impressed with, might have to get some for people at work and a few of my mates,
