Pros:This tool works really well on OBD II equipped BMWs. I use this on my 2003 e46. Simply plug it in, and turn the key to acc (gauges and such on but no ignition). Press the button you want to reset then the lights will all turn on. Unplug and turn key to off then back on. Should be reset at that point.
Cons:Seems a little cheap, especially at the connector, but at this price, who cares?
Bottomline:This tool is an excellent value for the price. I would highly suggest it to any OBD 2 e46 owner. You certainly do not have to be brilliant to figure out as previously suggested by another reviewer

nice inexpensive reset tool

Pros:Great price when you consider how much you'd get charged at a repair shop or dealership. Some places charge up to five times what you would pay for this item.
Cons:Quality is fair but lack of instructions is very frustrating. the obd 2 connector feels flimsy and pretty generic.
Other Thoughts:Can anybody tell me how to use this thing? I've tried everything I can think of and it still just lights up and nothing has been reset. I have no idea what this button right by the clock looking icon does it's not very specific
Bottomline:If you're a genius and can figure this out go for it, if you have spare time and are looking for an inexpensive way to reset your bmw's engine oil light go for it
