Pros:--Very nice packaging box;Really good quality; They have some distinctive slightly violet color, which makes them different from clear ones;Don't know why, but mine got AMP logo on them and Tyco Electronics logo on the box, which is kinda cool. The writings on the box says that they're made in USA, which looks that way. They crimp easily and the wire holder doesn't break easily.
Cons:At first they seemed to fail staying in the socket, because they didn't "click", but in every later application they worked well. It might been just a coincidence.
Bottomline:Can't think of any place for buying these cheaper than here. These connectors are of great quality and looks. Some times more expensive ones doesn't do as well as these here.

They work great... but

Pros:Excellent product, can't go wrong with 100 network heads for less than $10USD. It comes in a fairly sturdy box and was in excellent condition when it arrived.
Cons:The only problem I had with these, along with items 1261 (network tester) and 3530 (crimper) is that I cannot pull the cable out after putting it in.I also tried it with all available RJ45 ports, and they go in fine, but do not come out without use of a shim at all.
Other Thoughts:The product does what it is supposed to do, with sku 1261, the network cables are perfect and send all 8 signals.
Bottomline:Very good product, highly recommend if you can overlook the connection issue.

High quality, great price

Pros:High quality, none has yet failed me (from over 80 used)Great priceWorks fine on gigabit LAN (although I have not tested speeds)Nice box
Cons:Not really good for stranded cable - you will have a hard time stuffing it in
Other Thoughts:It would be great if DTW supplied the RJ 45 boots as well, it would make a great couple. Stranded wire connectors would be also nice. The 500 character limit is ridiculous, what is one supposed to write about a connector?
Bottomline:Great pack for the price, if you make your wiring from solid core cables, you can't go wrong with these.

Quality connectors at an amazing price

Pros:This is an amazing deal on these connectors. These are real AMP connectors made by Tyco P/N 5-554720-3. At this price get a box you really can't go wrong.
Cons:The downside is that these are rated as CAT-3 and not CAT-5e connectors. The thing is that there really is no discernible difference as far as the connector is concerned. They will work fine with CAT-5e cable.
Other Thoughts:Be aware that these are designed for solid core cable but I don't see a problem using them with stranded cable either.
Bottomline:These connectors have been made in the US, shipped to Hong Kong and then shipped back to North America for less than it would cost to buy locally. In fact DigiKey are charging $56 + shipping for a box of 100 of these.

Best price around

Pros:Best price I could find for RJ45 plugs. Why spend the same amount (or more) for a 10 or 12 pack at a retail store?
Cons:Once the box starts getting less then about half-full, the bottom can start to fold in on itself, and pretty soon you'll have connectors floating around in the bottom of your bag.
Other Thoughts:In an emergency, could be used with a slingshot to get some of those annoying squirrels out of the yard.
Bottomline:If you need to make more then a half-dozen cables, you might as well get this boxfull. It'll last quite a while.Note: Please don't shoot at squirrels with these connectors, that was a joke :oP
