A treasured toy

Pros:I bought this monocular for myself and it was claimed by my boyfriend. I had to reorder to get my own. It's a pretty little device that comes with an attractive carry strap and storage case, easy enough to remember to throw in your pocket when you go out in case you see something you'd like to get a better look at (near or far).
Cons:This thing suits my purposes.
Other Thoughts:This has become one of my bf's most treasured toys and he does pull it out and use it on an irregular basis.
Bottomline:Fun to have, decent price, for a usable, pretty tool.

Not 7x, but...

Pros:I have two pairs of binoculars for a wide variety of uses, but there are times when I just want to have sometime small for the occasional spotting use. A monocular is handy, but there aren't many cheap ones by the Japanese manufacturers. When I saw the monoculars here I went out and bought two, one of them being this Nikula. It's surprisingly well-built, and I like the main lever for adjusting focus. It's quite easy to use.I pitted this against my Pentax 8x25 and Nikon 7x50, and it came out well in most aspects. The image was bright and clear for something with an 18mm objective, and not very laden with chromatic aberrations (there's some, but look at the price!). The image circle was much bigger than the Likon 6x16 which I got as well, which kinda raised my suspicion, since the 8x25 Pentax barely has a bigger image circle...
Cons:Which brings me to the main con. The main con is that this monocular is not 7x. It's probably closer to 5.5x. I tested this against my Pentax 8x25 and Nikon 7x50 binoculars, and it's clearly not showing as much magnification as the two binos. It's probably why the image circle is so bright and clear despite it having an 18mm objective.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline:Since I just wanted something like 4-5x magnification, this one does the job. Just remember it's not 7x, and you'll be pleased at the amount of optic quality you can get for this price.

I thought it would be useful

Pros:Has a good price. The build quality also seems to be nice. It comes with cord and pouch, both seem to be good too.
Cons:Not really useful. I bought thinking about taking it to the football stadium, but 7x zoom isn't enough for that. I tried looking at the neighbourhood and it's still a small zoom.
Other Thoughts:I was surprised the manual doesn't contain english errors. But it has only to pages and doesn't really make any difference.
Bottomline:If it really has use for you, then it might be a nice idea to buy it. The price is good and so is the quality.

Take it with you

Pros:It has a quite sharp view. It is light and small enough to carry it always in my coat. A nice lens-cleaning cloth is included.
Cons:It is a little bit strange that there are two methods of adjustment, the lever and a ring on the eyepiece (Could it be that this equipment is also used in a binocular?). Perhaps an even better quality could be obtained with only one moving lens.
Other Thoughts:I was pleased that the rubber on the eyepiece can be folded back to accommodate my glasses. In that way I have full field of view.
Bottomline:Very useful monocular to always carry with you.

Useful and well finished

Pros:Very clear lens and a well finished monocular. It seems hard enough to carry in my backpack for trekking or in a golf bag. It cames with a bag to keep it clean.
Cons:None at all... ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline:It's a great tool to carry in the backpack when you go to the mountain, and it's very small and light, so you can have it allways with you. Maybe I'll bought another one as a backup.
