| Pros:I have had this product for quite some time and I have not had any issues in the functionality. For this price I would defintely recommend it and would buy again. | |
| Cons:I do not have any CON's because all the computers I have now are the SATA variety and I may not need this anymore, Technology keeps changing and advancing. | |
| Bottomline:The bottom line is that I would definitely buy this again if I needed one, but like I said above, All my computers now have SATA drives and I don't have any IDE drives left. | |
Good Product but .... |

| Pros:I've used this product to salvage several IDE drives from an older computer. Works like a charm with Western Digital drives. | |
| Cons:I recently used this to add a Pioneer DVR 112D. I can only use the Cable Select jumper setting and it automatically sets the DMA Transfer rate to Ultra DMA Mode 2 instead of Mode 4. Therefore I can't write DVDs with the software I'm using. Luckily I have another DVD writer installed. | |
| Other Thoughts:Good for hard drives but you may have reduced performance with some DVD writers. | |
| Bottomline:Excellent product for the money. I'll use it in the future for another IDE hard drive that I'm looking to salvage in my new PC. | |
Really works! |

| Pros:- Good working SATA to IDE converter.- Very Compact and space saving.- Very good transfer rate- Compatible with IDE hard disks. | |
| Cons:Doesn't have any protection over the adapter's circuitry. This means that you can accidentally damage the adapter by the person's own static electricity. To solve this problem, one is advised to use electricity tape to cover the adapter from both sides. | |
| Other Thoughts:In HD Tune, detects my 40 Gb IBM Hard Disk as an ordinary IDE disk drive.I use this adapter to connect external IDE disk drives to my computer. All I had to do is pass a SATA cable from one of my motherboard's internal onboard SATA connector to the side of my PC case. Then I use an external power adapter to provide the required 12V and 5V for the hard disk. I use a splitter cable to be able to power both the adapter and hard disk. This way I can format or backup any hard disk type without opening my computer case - its fast and easy! | |
| Bottomline:For this low price its a real bargain - besides, its bundled with an extra SATA cable and power adapter.****Caution!!**** - don't use an ordinary floppy power connector to power this adapter! If you notice, the provided cable only provides 5V (the RED cable) and not 12V (the yellow cable), besides the earth cable (black).Using the usual floppy drive power cable will BURN your adapter, providing the unneeded 12V - this happened to me with a previous adapter :-( | |
Super performance. |

| Pros:This is an awesome product a very pleasant surprise. It set up just like that. 7.9GByte file transferred in 5:36, that is 1.39 GBytes per minute. That is around the maximum IED speed. For comparsion, eSATA to eSATA on my system 3.23 Gbytes per minute, internal Sata to Sata is around 2 Gbytes per minutes. Note: for file transfer, we used gigabytes, includes system overhead. | |
| Cons:No complaint no compaint. all cables are included. | |
| Other Thoughts:I would be trilled if they have SCSI to SATA, IEEE to SATA... | |
| Bottomline:Really happy. DTW makes my day. (Sadly not the case for the Lithium battery I bought, still testing) | |

| Pros:*Worked with all the devices I tested with- Maxtor Dimondmax 9 80Gb- Seagate 7200.10 500Gb- Western Digital WD400 40Gb- Sony / Nec Optiarc DVDRW AD-5200A- Asus DVD-E616A- Lite On DVD SHW-1635S* 100% Vista x64 Compatible.* Doesn't Seem to affect DVD Read/Write Speed At All.* 100% Plug in and Go, Detected in Bios as Native Sata Device.* Stable, No loss of connection / corruption of data in transmission. | |
| Cons:* Hard Disks will have a performance hit Going from the speed of UDMA 5 / 6 to UDMA2* As mentioned before if your using it on anything with metal on the rear protect the drive and your Converter with a little Electric Tape. | |
| Other Thoughts:Not bad at all, Will order more especially for IDE DVD drives to be converted to Sata for the better airflow that Sata cables offer. | |
| Bottomline:Worth the small Price. | |
