Great light

Pros:1. The first con noted below can actually also be a pro. Because of this little quirk that you need to fully click the button to get to the next mode, you can still use the light to signal by half-pressing the clicky.2. It's very well made. The clicky is solid and, after the clean and lube job, I've tested the head portion of the light to be waterproof. I'm not brave enough to fully submerge the light, but I could probably safely say the light as a whole is at least splash-proof.3. Direct driven. It let's you know when your battery is running low because the reduction in brightness.4. Good output. I compared the low on this light with an EagleTac T10L's general mode which is meant to be 60 lumens. It turns out to be slightly less bright than that. However, the high mode on this light looks higher than the T10L's 255 lumens. If I had to guess, it's probably around the 300+ mark.5. The tint is ever so slightly warmer than my T10L (ie. still white, but less 'blue white'), whic
Cons:1. It's not a problem with me, but some people might not like the UI. The light has a high and low mode. You access either of these modes via clicking on the light once for high mode, then fully clicking it again to get low mode. One more click will turn the light off.If you wanted to turn the light off from high, then you'd need to click another two times before finally turning it off. Therefore, there is no memory mode.2. It will get too hot to hold in high mode if left to its own devices.3. Direct driven. If you want the light output to remain at a constant brightness, you won't get that here.
Other Thoughts:Note that, as soon as I got the light, I did the following mods:- sanded down the lens with 200 grit paper and then finishing it off with 800 grit paper in order to create a diffused lens- the pill can be unscrewed from the body. I used some left over Arctic Silver 3 around the threads to improve heat transfer from the pill to the body- cleaned and lubed up the threadsI have not tried using the light as it came straight from DTW.
Bottomline:It's a two-stage, resistored, reverse-clicky, MC-E light. It's great to use around the house with the diffused lens creating a 'wall' of white light.

Good but not perfect

Pros:Excellent form factor, very compact and light.LED pill is sturdy and has large and solid contact area with body via thread(unlike MTE P7)for thermal controlGood runtime of over 100min(in expense of brightness )Could be a good host
Cons:Got two different bins. The first light i ordered has yellowish tint, the second one has neutral white tint and less bright than the first(probably K not M).When such things happens in 15$ lights category i can except it but when you are paying closer to 100$ and left with two totally different color tints on the same bike it starts to drive me crazy.First light suffered from flickering problem, had to repair the switch.Direct drive no regulation.Could be brighter.A lot of light output is simply waisted because of reflector
Other Thoughts:Will try to drive it with eight AMC7135(the only problem with AMC7135 that it will regulate from 6v to 3.8v meaning that with 18650 you only have 4,2v to 3.8 short range)Reflector design is not suitable for that light.Large flat area on reflector around the hole creates tight spot and cuts the light around. But MC-E is not a thrower. Spot intensity and distance is the same as much more useful, flood type MTE Seoul P7 with medium angle reflector. When i put MTE P7 reflector on C2 MC-E i got the same spot and "wall of light" around. So the problem for me now is where to find that short 20mm suitable for C2 reflector without flat bottom.
Bottomline:Good but far from perfect

Great Light

Pros:+ Exceptionally bright high mode, very frugal low mode. + The fit-and-finish is excellent.+ Very small size for the brightness.+ Large spot and strong spill - the best of everything.
Cons:+ Flickering (fixed - see below).+ Warmer color temp than Q5 (could be a pro, depending on preference)
Other Thoughts:When the light arrived, I was disappointed to find that it flickered erratically. I noticed that the flickering would often stop if I touched the switch, so at first I assumed it was the switch. I disassembled the tail cap to take a look at the switch, and noted that the board on which the switch was mounted was grounded to the flashlight body through a rather complicated path: two solder bumps on the board were supposed to contact the retaining plate, and the retaining plate contacted the inside threads of the cap. The solder bumps were rounded and uneven. I flattened the bumps with a small file, and made their heights consistent to better contact the retaining plate. then I reassembled the tail cap, and everything works perfectly. A day of irritation was solved in about five minutes of troubleshooting and rework.
Bottomline:Amazingly bright and well-engineered flashlight for the money, but be prepared for a little disassembly and rework to make the execution match the engineering.

Bright (with a fresh batteriers)

Pros:+ very bright (on HIGH mode)+ compact size+ two modes only, just what I wanted (especially no strobe-mode!)+ low mode is suitable for most cases, it's bright enough for me+ can be used without the reflector when spill is all you need
Cons:- not really regulated circuitry (I understand 'regulated' so that LED-power stays the same regardless the input voltage or outside temperature variations)- throw pattern is not completely uniform (but pretty good still)- only one body color (black) available (just my opinion)
Other Thoughts:I measured how much power it takes from the battrery when voltage drops:V A W4,3 1,9 8,24,2 1,8 7,64,0 1,5 6,03,8 1,2 4,63,6 1,0 3,63,4 0,8 2,73,2 0,5 1,63,0 0,3 0,92,7 0,04 0,1So it doesn't take full advantage of MCE-emitters capabilities but it is a good compromise to keep runtime decent and also keep a temperature tolerable.I'd like it to have really regulated driver.
Bottomline:With fresh batteries the amount of light is quite impressive. Having two useable brightness modes and compact size makes this is a very good all-around torch.

Not impressed

Pros:Fairly bright when first turn on for like 5 seconds then....see below. My R2 Dropin blows this away although it much more focused(and stays constant)
Cons:After a few seconds light dims and flickers slightly ending up very dull.I've checked all the threads and contacts :o/
Other Thoughts:Not very impressed with the light and wish Id gone for a P7 light or another form of Mce light not being the C2.
Bottomline:Its fairly cheap if you want to take a risk you might get one like the other reviewer. Mine is pretty much useless.
