| Pros:It's a great light for the price! The 230 Lumen really seem to be correct. There is not really a lot to complayn about the build quality (see Cons). | |
| Cons:If used with protected cells, depending on their length, the tailcap may not close by 0.3 to 0.5 mm. | |
| Other Thoughts:I mostly use unprotected cells (salvaged from laptop batteries). Since they don't have a pin on the positive ens and the light only has a spring on the tailcap, there's no proper contact. Instead of using some magnets, I unscrewed the head and puted a thin solder spot in the middle of the PCB. This seems to be the easiest way.If used with protected cells then, the cap doesn't close by almost 1 mm - but it seems to be no problem. | |
| Bottomline:If you need a holster for this light, SKU 1373 fits nice. The first two I ordered are already owned by two colleagues and I had to order new ones. So they have to bee good lihghts :-) | |
Small and Bright (although not perfect |

| Pros:BrightVery Small5 modes work really wellNice designGlass Lens | |
| Cons:Brass Heatsink (not Chrome, as pictured)Front lens is smaller than it should beDoesn't stand on tail | |
| Other Thoughts:Front lens has less than 18mm and it should be 20mm - that, and a very thin front O-ring. This results in lens rattle, and loss of water resistance... The button should be a little more recessed, so that it could stand on its tail (very usefull, when you need to light up a room) | |
| Bottomline:Well worth it's price. Bought it to use it in the helmet for off road biking, but since another order got delayed, it will end up as a gift - I guess I will have to order another one!If it wasn't for the front lens problem, I would give it 5 stars as an overal rating. | |

| Pros:- small enough- VERY bright for the size. Seems to have a genuine Q5- burn time is excellent for what I need it for; somewhere around 2-2.5 hours.- decent quality- large tail switch (nice with gloves)- Good value for the price | |
| Cons:When I first turned it on, it gave me the "flickering" that is so common with many of these lights. I used fine steel wool to scuff up all the contact points and threads and it has cleared up the problem.I consider the SMO reflector it came with a con. | |
| Bottomline:For $16 this is a great little light. Took minor surgery to get it working 100% but has been perfect since. I use this mainly around the house and mountain biking, which attaches perfectly to my helmet. I've used it for about 8 rides now with no problems. The Smooth reflector was a huge dissapointment to me, as it doesn't diffuse the light as much and DTW doesn't seem to carry a replacement OP. They did say that they are now shipping with OP reflectors, but who knows. I unscrew the head 1 turn and tape it to spread the light more, otherwise the tight bright spot is tough on the eyes while riding. I really wish it came with the OP.Overall a great value if it comes as advertised. | |

| Pros:- nice, flawless silver finish- bright- tailstands- threads are all smooth - plenty of o-rings- protected 18650 fit fine | |
| Cons:- "SOS" mode goes "SOO" | |
| Other Thoughts:a very decent everyday light, nice silver finish, fits any pocket. Low mode is about the same as "Big M" 3AA which costs twice the price and is twice the length. | |
| Bottomline:I definately like this light. if you need something really bright that fits your pocket, buy it. Big M's are perfectly crafted, but this light outligbhts them easily and is still well crafted. | |

| Pros:I bought two TR-801's back in December of 2008. I just bought one of these. They're totally different. It appears that DTW is having another company manufacture them. | |
| Cons:Differences include:Smooth reflector (instead of textured like the description states and like my old ones)Brass heatsink is left uncoated (brass colored) whereas on the photo & the old ones I own it's chromed.Body is machined slightly different (thickness of cuts, depths, etc)Only has a spring in the tailcap whereas the old ones have a spring on the tailcap & driver.Driver is a bit different but still has same modes (strobe is slower on new light).Brightness appears to be comparable but the LED is mounted on a different star (black instead of white).Laser etched logos are slightly different in size & the CREE logo is not the same.Finish on new light is a slightly lighter gray | |
| Bottomline:Still a good light, but definitely being manufactured by a different company. | |
