Driver kills itself

Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: less than 1 day

Ease of Use:
Build Quality:
Usefulness:
Overall Rating:
Pros:I like the size an physical build, very bright for the few seconds that it worked.
Cons:I could only get it to stay on for a second or two with a AA alkaline. Thinking it was more a screw contact issue I switched to a protected power supply. At 1.5v, full brightness drew over 2A. After a second, the light output would die and it would go short circuit (which I had limited to 2.5A). Bumping to 3v, it would happily run (now around 1A).
Other Thoughts:After just a few times of the driver killing itself with overcurrent at 1.5V, it permanently went short circuit. Now does not work at any voltage. Clearly no current limit despite the description saying so.
Bottomline:This would probably be better at 3v with 2xAA; a single 1.5v AA will cause it to self destruct!

14500 fries driver

Pros:Works fine with AA.Mode memory worked ok.
Cons:It worked ok with an AA NiMH but as soon as I tried a protected 14500 the driver fried. It's still drawing current (it may be short circuited), but there is no light. AA also no longer works. There was quite a loud buzzing sound with the AA.
Other Thoughts:Color is not exactly grey as shown, more brownish gold.I don't care much for the strobe and SOS.
Bottomline:The light even has 0.8V - 4.5V printed on it, but a protected 14500 TrustFire destroyed the driver.

Not as bright as UniqueFire S10 SKU 30987

Pros:Small - about the length of adult middle finger.Nice finish - Very well made, well machined, clean design. Better looking than the S10Multiple Mode - useful five mode operation. I found the dim setting to be very useful when use in a very dark room. The brightest setting can be a bit too powerful.
Cons:Not as bright as the UniqueFire S10 (purchased in the same order), The S10 is advertised at 220 lumens whilst TrustFire is advertised at 230 lumens. It is noticeably less powerful than the S10.
Other Thoughts:whilst it may be less bright than the S10 but it also has lower operating temperature. The TrustFire does not get hot like the UniqueFire S10.
Bottomline:It's bright but just not as bright as the S10.

Good one!

Pros:- Small & Bright FlashLight- Clip included- 5 modes to fit all needs- Can be powered by AA batteries
Cons:- Easy to overturn the tread, it's very weak...- No strap included =(
Other Thoughts:I've received about 10 of these already... Very good one, use it several months for night action games. Works fine!I'm using it for everyday needs too. It's always in my pocket.Last ones, ordered two months ago were build not so cool =(
Bottomline:Good flashlite!I hope, that build quality of last ones, ordered by me was exception to the rule...

Pros:This flashlight is light. It has good build quality. It fits AA batteries.Gives acceptable lighting. The ability to switch between modes gives it a good possibility to use it together with photograpy.
Cons:Could have brighter light, but with one AA(1,5v) i guess that is the limiter.
Other Thoughts:With a more powerful batteri i guess this would be better. The clip works great, should be possible to remove it maybe.
Bottomline:If you need an emergency light in your fuzebox this is it.Good for photolighting.
