It was cool while it lasted

Pros:Very compact, quite light and rather bright. Useful as a carry-it-all-around torch. The brightness is almost the same as that of 18650-based torches, with half their size. Seems like it's waterproof with o-rings on all joints.
Cons:The pocket clip could be made stronger. The click button is a bit too hard to press with the thumb.Mine died after a week of moderate use 8( Still had not disassembled it yet to see why.
Bottomline:A decent torch overall, but there are better flashlights here for the same price and feature set.

Good for the money

Pros:A Lot of light for a small flashlight.I have used it with sanyo 2700mAh batteries. In high mode it last a little over 2 hours.Sanyo batteries get pretty hot after burning for an hour, the head itself keeps quite cool.An earlier reviewer said that changing the battery is hard, yes indeed but only if you unscrew the bottom, if you unsrew the head it get's real easy.
Cons:The GITD rings and buttons don't light up very long, so they are not very useful.I ordered 3 pieces, got one with a faulty head. Did not work with AA's.The driver unit in the head easily becomes lose, so if dropped a couple of times, or mounted on you bike you have toe tightin it. It is screwed in side the headIf you tap the flashlight on something it skips through the modes.I would not buy these anymore, I would go with a flashlight with no memory or only one mode.
Other Thoughts:I compared these with the ultrafire C3's. At first it looked as if the C3 had more light. The C3 only had a more pure white color, this akoray light is more yellowish. But at a longer ditance this akoray definitely wins!
Bottomline:Good light for the money!Lot's of light for a small flashlight!Modes come in handy when reading a map.But normally they are not very useful, you have to skip through all modes.

Get what you pay for.

Pros:I've got this flashlight and hoped it will work with 1,2/1,5 V batteries, but it doesn't. Only 14500 batteries work well in this flashlight. Anyway, the light is quite bright and I'm satisfied with the result (of quantity of light). I would add an "easy light" button with which you could get a turbo boost, a maximum light for a few seconds.
Cons:It is a bit annoying to walk through all modes until you get the one you like. A on/off button is a bit clumsy to press. It is quite unpleasant thing to change the battery as you always think that cover is stuck.
Bottomline:You can buy this flashlight if you don't plan to use it as a everyday light source, because it is unpleasant thing to change batteries. I don't recommend this flashlight if you plan to use it as a short time light source, because very time you turn it you get a next mode, and you have to walk through all modes again.I like it, because i use it 10-20 minutes every second day, it is perfect for me.

14500 not recomended

Pros:- Takes both 1.2v/1.5v AAs and 14500 batteries- Light and handy- Bright for a single cell on AAs- Nice finishing- Has a tail clip- GITD o-rings- GITD clicky switch- Pill not glued/epoxy-ed- Pill can be removed- MOD-able- Driver can be changed- LED can be changed
Cons:- Gets HOT on HIGH with 14500- Driver burns out on HIGH for more then 5mins- Tail Clip rather soft and gets out of shape easily- Tail switch recessed. Fat thumbs[I dun have them] will have a problem depressing the switch- Dents after a few moderate knocks.
Other Thoughts:- Needs a better driver to handle 14500 on high mode.- Flashlight body need to be a little thicker to provide better heatsinking for drawing away heat from the pill
Bottomline:- If you wanna use 14500s on HIGH, pls make sure you don't leave it on for too long...- Use MED instead on 14500If you intend to use only 1.2v/1.5v AAs- Go ahead with ANY modes. It's safe.- Being along spare batteries on long trips.

Pros:-Size is perfect, feels great in hand-5 mode in such a small package-Bright for its size-Uses common AA Battery-Orange peel reflector
Cons:-Clicky was defective from factory (still works but the rubber/clicky gets stuck sometimes when pressed)-clip is firm but feels like it would break if bent too much
Other Thoughts:Bought this as a xmas gift for dad, so I had it for a few weeks before delivery. Very neat little light, tapping the clicky while on cycles through the modes; and if you turn it off, then back on it remembers the last setting. My dad now keeps this little light in his car, so it gets good use.
Bottomline:Nice pocket light, Not sure if my clicky defect was a chronic issue with others but if that was fixed it would have received a better score. Still worth the $ due to flexibility of it being 5 mode on 1 AA.
