Pros:cheap servos that works greati have used this for more than 2 monthsno problem so farso far so goodi used it on all my 1;10 drift kits and mini 1;10 kitshandles greatworks greatbest of all it's cheap
Cons:sounds rough when turning but it is metal geared so it's still acceptableprice-wise what you expect from a servo @ this price??
Other Thoughts:these are simply great alternative servoi have bought 5 of these servo from DTW2 out 3 of my rc drift club mates use this servo
Bottomline:just buy itit workssame servo as the ones that cam with the tamiya tt01 kits (hextroniks)just open the case and you'll see "towerpro" label inside

strong, cheap servo with a lot of play

Pros:strong servo.indeed all metal gears.a ball bearing on the output-shaft. not sealed though.
Cons:has a lot of play.better not use it for anything that suffers from much play.gears feel mushy or grinding when turned without power.is not digital as the sticker suggests. (you can hear the difference)tries to correct the gear play by moving against it instead of holding its position.it is a little slow on the start.
Other Thoughts:only application that comes in mind would be a throttle or brake servo in a large scale model.
Bottomline:I would not buy exactly this tower pro 995 servo again.don't get me wrong, it is not a crappy servo, it hat metal gears, so it may survive heavy abusing in monster trucks and such.and in an application where precision is not required it shines through cheapness and durability.

Good Value for Money, Does the job nicely

Pros:Brass / Steel gearing right down to the servomotor drive. Standard footprint, useful bag of fittings, standard JR colourway on cable, output shaft splines fit heaps of "after-market" servo accessories, and all after market JR stuff.
Cons:LOTS of BAD REVIEWS on the Internet RC Pages, however I've used these in very high load / vibration / "generally Hostile" applications without any trouble at all. Self centering is a known problem, but provided they are loaded well, this seems to be relatively minor.
Other Thoughts:Well worthwhile stripping, re-lubricating the gear train (and mini ball bearing), and putting a few blobs of hot melt on to the connection wires between the mini PCB and the servo pot / drive motor. There have been anecdotal reports of this model experiencing wire fracture at the PCB / Motor connections.
Bottomline:This is not a "fit and forget" item, but with absolutely minimal regular maintenance these will provide excellent performance, and reliability. Once they start experiencing MAJOR problems, they are cheap enough to cannibalise for scrap, and replace!

Good servo for very good price!

Pros:First of all the price is very good!Well DTW is cheapest shop on internet for this great servo! In mine country you will pay double and it's excluding shipping costs. Now about the servo. The servo has metal gears so it's very usefull for strong aplication e.g. as steering servo for fast rc cars.I am using the servo as steering servo for mine homemade crawler. Well it's doing his work great, no broken teeth at all! I like this servo because:- Metal gears.- A lot of torgue.- Speed is o.k.- Nice bag of parts for the aplication you will need.
Cons:The servo has problem withh centering, but for this price don't complain!
Other Thoughts:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bottomline:Great servo for great price!Get this servo, you wouldn't be dissapointed! So buy it now and be happy when received!
